STAR Factor collaborates with a number of organizations to develop leaders who embody the social and emotional skills needed to transform schools into places where young people can acquire the academic, social and emotional skills that will ready them to contribute to their communities and the larger society. STAR Factor prepares adults who can create that seamless line between teaching and learning.
The Health, Emotion and Behavior Laboratory, Department of Psychology at Yale University
Since 2007, Drs. Stern and Patti have collaborated with Dr. Marc Brackett in the development and training of teachers and school leaders in a coaching model based on the work of Peter Salovey, John Mayer, David Caruso, Marc Brackett and Susan Rivers. The school curriculum was originally inspired by the work of Marvin Maurer, teacher of 40 years. The research-based, Emotionally Literacy for Educators training is part of school systems across the United States, Europe and Canada.

STAR Factor offers a variety of services for schools in The NYC Dept. of Education. In 2005, Star Factor trained 20 Local Instructional Superintendents (LIS) through out multiple regions in our model of emotional intelligence coaching. Over the last three years, we have provided both individual coaching and team development to over 20 school principals and their teams in District 75. Individual schools use our services to offer school retreats, keynotes, teacher professional development and coaching.
New Visions

In the spring of 2005, Star Factor partnered with New Visions, a cutting edge nonprofit designed to support our city’s struggling and underfunded public schools. Through their support, Star Factor trained a small group of the most successful school leaders in the city in our model of coaching. The training was a profound success—bringing these experts, already at the top of their field, even further along in their own self-awareness and their understanding of the importance of self-directed personal development. These former principals have gone on to coach dozens of current principals in emotional intelligence development, affecting the lives of countless teachers, and in turn, students. Many of them continue to be part of the Star Factor community.
The Hay Group
http://www.haygroup.com/
Star Factor has partnered with the Hay Group in a variety of capacities since the inception of our work. The Emotional Intelligence Inventory (ECI), which provides coachees with a complete sense of their individual emotional intelligence profile (strengths, challenges etc.), is the foundational piece of our coaching experience. Further, we have welcomed Hay Group representatives as presenters in each of our coach training institutes and been thrilled with the blending of philosophies.
