Emotionally Intelligent School Counselor Training

New York City: Spring, 2011

Would you like the opportunity to assess and focus on your own social and emotional skills and competencies, as a counselor? Would you like to incorporate the framework of emotional intelligence into your work with young people and adults? Would you like to help create a socially and emotionally rich school climate and culture ?

Join us for a three day intensive institute where you will:

  • Complete and analyze two research-based emotional intelligence assessments
  • Engage in six sessions of personal coaching (begins during the training)
  • Learn the history of emotional intelligence and its role in development of adults and children
  • Acquire and practice social and emotional skills and competencies through the lens of the school counselor's role
  • Learn how to integrate social and emotional skills into all aspects of the daily life of the school counselor
  • Explore ways to mobilize your colleagues and leaders to join you in creating a safe and caring learning community

Leadership Institute

Leading schools is an arduous and rewarding task. The expectations to raise student achievement is the number one goal. We believe that the expectation is to engage all learners and adults in the school so as to be able to develop the students' social, emotional and academic learning. We do this through resonant leadership provided by the school leaders, p reflective teachers and engaged students who are part of the conversation that leads to their enhanced pro social skills that will ready them for school and for life.

Join us in this two- day institute in which we will develop school leaders (and teams) to acquire the research proven social and emotional skill set to lead this critical change.

 


 

Annual Coach Training Institute

Today’s world needs dynamic, creative, transformative leaders. STAR coaches work with others to become these leaders. The Star Factor Model draws upon theoretical constructs from organizational behavior, self- psychology, systems change, adult learning theory, motivation theory and emotional intelligence theory. STAR leaders:

  • Enhance performance by developing social and emotional skills and competencies in self and others
  • Create a unique vision of personal and professional success
  • Recognize and utilize strengths as leadership leverage
  • Identify challenges and patterns of behavior
  • Set definable and achievable performance goals


STAR Coach Training

The Star Factor intensive coaching training program provides qualified professionals an opportunity to develop advanced coaching skills, anchored in the theory and practice of emotional and social intelligence. The full program consists of this initial five- day training and approximately 40 additional hours of continued development including: personal coaching, coaching practice, supervision and preparation for certification.
